5 Important Steps To Finding Legitimate Work
At Home Jobs
Here are 5 Important steps to you need to mentally prepare yourself before
you look for Legitimate Work At Home
Jobs .
So you’d like to find a way to work from home and make a few dollars but
you don’t know where to begin right? Well first of all, make sure that you actually want to work and you are
not just in love with the idea of making money while staying at home. Unfortunately, many people believe that
the internet is some kind of magic place that pays you to do next to nothing. It isn’t.
But if you keep these tips in mind and you are serious about giving it a
go, then you have an excellent opportunity to earn some bucks from home.
1. Keep It Real
As mentioned above, the internet is not a magic place where you can make
money without any skills. However there are a bunch of sites that would have you believe that those
opportunities exist. Survey sites abound promising up to $75 for each survey filled out. Legitimate
market research firms have their participants fill out extensive demographic information, not just an email address
and zip code, and then only pay $100 to $200 for an in person one or two hour focus group. Do you really
think someone is going to pay you $75 to fill out an online form?
Basically, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t.
Avoid these sites. At the minimum they will waste your time and at the worse they will take you for some
money.
2. What Is Your Skill
Decide just what it is you can do. If it’s been sometime since you
were last employed or if you’ve not worked in administration or some other popular online field, just how do you
plan to market yourself much less do the work. There are a number of free testing sites for Excel, Word and
other popular programs. Test yourself and get an idea of just what you can do.
3. How Much Time On Your Hands
Realistically, how much time can you dedicate to working an online
job? Many of the legitimate jobs are project based where the requirements are detailed and a deadline for
finishing is set. If a project is going to take you longer than the deadline allows, don’t pursue it.
Understand just how fast you can accurately perform a task so you don’t end up disappointing yourself and your
client.
4. Think Outside The CPU
When people think about legitimate work at home jobs they usually think in
terms that involve working on the computer. Data entry, medical billing, virtual assistant, article writing
and a host of web technologies come to mind as typical opportunities. However, thanks to advances in VOIP the
telephone has now become a work at home tool.
More and more firms are now outsourcing customer service and customer
support. Sometimes this is a direct relationship with an individual but more commonly it is a contract with a
call center. Those call centers in turn are looking for home base operators who can handle the calls and
allow the center to grow without taking up more physical space. If you’re more a people person than a
computer person this is a great opportunity.
5. Know Your Client
Before you decide to work for anyone, know as much as you can about
them. If you are working through a legitimate freelance site, the client will have a profile and they will
show their history of paying or not paying. If you have made a deal direct, Google the company name + forums
and you’ll see if they come up in any forums. This is a great place to get other people’s opinions about your
client.
There is nothing more disheartening than working hard on a job just to
discover that the client has disappeared.
There is money to be made with legitimate work at home jobs, all you have
to do is exercise some common sense to find the ones that are ideal for you.
